Since yesterday, the bird sanctuaries are open again. From the 15th of May until the 15th of August, several places around town and around the fjord were prohibited to enter. Now that the breeding season is over and the birds slowly start to migrate away from Svalbard, those areas are freely accessible again. One sign that winter is coming.
