Today’s visitors were a mother bear and her cub. They were first seen on the island Prins Heinrich close to the village and passed the village on the south side. From the roof top of the AWIPEV observatory, we had a good view on the bears. Since the bears kept their proper distance to us (Corona is still a thing), it was not necessary to scare them away. A nice visit that kept many inhabitants from Ny-Ålesund from working for half an hour: spotting a bear is sometimes more important!
